A severe reaction can include difficulty breathing, swelling of the mouth and throat, decreased blood pressure, shock and sometimes death.
Most common food allergies are called intolerances to certain types of food. They bring in vomiting, diarrhea, spitting up, and even skin rashes. An example of a reaction that usually occurs in children who have lactose intolerance. This is caused by deficiency of the enzyme lactase, which often break the sugar lactose. Children without this type of enzyme or a decreased amount of enzyme was developed symptoms after drinking lactose containing food products such as cow’s mild. Sometimes this is a confusing ordeal because the reaction does not involve the immune system and not a true food allergy problem.
