Parkinson’s Disease and its Effects on Language Processing
Currently one of the best known disease is Parkinson’s. We all know that this disease affects many people worldwide, and usually the problem is recognized by the occurrence of earthquakes in specific regions or throughout the patient’s body. This condition is generated by the lack of dopamine in the affected person.
However, motor problems are not the only ones who have to deal with Parkinson’s patients. Studies have shown that the ability to process language is also affected by the disease, which leads to people who suffer have trouble understanding certain situations.
Usually people with Parkinson’s have problems when faced with complicated situations, such as a sudden change in conversation. His ability to speak is not affected in general, but specific situations and complex itself is clearly visible difficulties in processing language. For this reason experts recommend having simple conversations with patients who have this disease.
