Soy consumption reduces risk of lung disease

People who eat lots of soy products not only have better lung function but also are less likely to develop chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other respiratory symptoms.

The researchers, led by Andy Lee, worked with a team of respiratory physicians to gather 300 patients with COPD of six Japanese hospitals and 340 control subjects matched by age in the same areas as the patients in relation to their consumption of soy.
