A traveller’s diarrhoea can infect you via various methods. The most common ones may include eating contaminated foods and drinks. Some people seem to ignore the importance of drinking purified water but during travelling you must always make sure that your water supply is clean and purified. This is due to the fact that there are many types of germs and bacteria being present in contaminated drinking water. If it is difficult to buy bottled water, you need to boil your water until it reaches 100 degrees in Celsius for at least five to seven minutes.

Keep in mind that traveller’s diarrhoea can infect more than fifty percent of travellers. Once you are infected with this disease, you will end up ruining your vacation since there is nothing else you will do except resting in bed. Be careful while travelling in certain countries such as India, Pakistan and Egypt. This is due to the fact that these are the countries with most reported cases of gastrointestinal infections.

In order to avoid diarrhoea while travelling, you must never drink tap water. Instead, buy bottled water and keep them with you at all times. Even when you are consuming bottled water, check if the lids are secured or not. Forget about using ice in your beverages except when you are pretty sure that water is safe.
